KABINI

The story of Kabini began long before the first drop of oil.

Today, the name Mysore Sandalwood appears on countless products, while wood of documented origin and unquestionable authenticity has become increasingly rare. Finding the right material became a journey in itself.

After an extensive search, a small selection of genuine sinking grade Red & Black Heartwood of Mysore Santalum album was acquired from a Japanese collector whose collection had been built over decades. The rarity of the wood was reflected in its value, comparable to that of a fine oud.

The wood was distilled over fifteen days in my own custom designed copper still, created  for perfection. Every decision throughout the process favored fidelity to the material over speed or yield.

From the very first drop, Kabini expresses the quiet elegance of old Mysore sandalwood opening with refined dry woods before unfolding into a rich buttery heart, layered with soft creaminess and delicate floral nuances.

Like all exceptional sandalwood oils, Kabini will continue to evolve with time not because it is unfinished, but because great sandalwood is never static. Time does not change its nature; it simply reveals more of it.
