SIMURG

SIMURG began as an idea many years before the first fire was lit beneath the still.

I had long believed that three particular regions possessed qualities capable of creating something extraordinary together. Not merely a blend of profiles, but a true co-distillation where each material would surrender part of its identity in service of a greater whole.

For this project, I spent long time collecting the right woods and studying their interaction through countless small scale distillations. Every variable was questioned. Ratios were adjusted, materials were exchanged, techniques refined and equipment modified. Each trial brought the vision closer into focus.

Eventually, the balance revealed itself.

The proportions felt right. The materials spoke the same language. The apparatus, the process and the timing all aligned. The moment had finally arrived to charge the still and begin the distillation that had existed only in imagination for so long.

The result is SIMURG.

An oud whose every drop fills me with pride.

A meeting of three islands.

The opening bursts alive with radiant tropical fruits wrapped in a haze of florals, minerals and resinous sparkle. Ripe mango skin, creamy banana nuances and exotic sweetness drift effortlessly through currents of salty ocean air, creating an impression that feels both vibrant and serene.

As SIMURG begins to unfold, a luminous incense character emerges from within.
It shimmers rather than projects, carrying a delicate effervescence that gives the composition an almost weightless energy. Creamy woods and soft resins weave through the brighter facets, adding richness without sacrificing transparency.

With time, the landscape broadens. Humid greenery, fertile earth and the quiet presence of ancient forests begin to reveal themselves beneath the surface. The composition gains depth and texture while remaining remarkably airy, like sunlight filtering through rainforest canopies after warm tropical rain.

What makes SIMURG special is its sense of unity. No single note seeks attention, no single character dominates. Tropical fruits, oceanic minerals, glowing incense, living earth and precious woods move as one continuous expression, flowing seamlessly from one moment to the next.

The drydown is pure harmony  creamy oud, mineral ocean air, soft glowing incense and the lingering memory of tropical fruits resting upon ancient woods.
